There was a time America came together as one. We helped our fellow man escape, flee from danger and to try and survive a horrific terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. We as a nation had a common goal, to join together and love and respect the men and women that risked their lives in NYC, all those first responders, risking their lives that day and week, only later to succumb to lung cancer and long term effects from their heroism.
We as a nation stopped focusing on if you were Black, White, Asian, Latino, Man, Woman, Democrat or Republican. We consoled each other, loved each other, we respected each other, and were proud to be American and proud to stand strong as a nation united.
While we may never have a nation unified like this again, I will be for today, longing for the peaceful and kinder past as we move forward into our next news cycle, Hopefully we've learned from the past so we we don't get tricked by the media into a conflict like the last 20 years in Afghanistan.
I ask today to remember your fellow American, hell...remember your fellow human today no matter where they live, even if you don't agree with their beliefs. It's a good reminder that life is short, sweet and best lived with love and not hate, even I must be reminded of this more often than I'd like.
My sorrow goes out to the innocent American's that lost their lives 20 years ago today, and my thanks goes out to the brave first responders who paid the ultimate price to save who they could. To those that fought in Afghanistan and gave us 20 years of terror free living on American soil, I say thank you for giving too much for such little return.

Many analysts are saying due to the price of diesel, prices will likely increate 20%-40% on most household goods, including food, not because of an oil shortage, but because of a refinery shortage, unable to turn enough oil to fuel. This was all before Ukraine just hit several more refineries in Russia the past few days.
To save money and have a hedge against shortages, I have gone out and picked up canned food and long shelf life dry goods (that I love to eat, food shortage or not) and most other necessities for 3-4 months.
It might be a good idea to make sure you have a bit of a food, toilet paper, soap, water etc supply, just because things may go south worse than expected, and the price is likely to go up in the next several months anyway.
